The Mushara Collection is a family-run group of four small lodges on private land just east of Etosha National Park, 8 km from Von Lindequist Gate. The name comes from the purple-pod terminalia, the mushara tree that grows across the property.
Each of the four properties has its own character and price point, from a family-friendly tented camp to a two-villa retreat with its own guide and vehicle. All four share the same practical advantage: you can be through the eastern gate within about ten minutes of finishing breakfast, with Namutoni and Fischer’s Pan close beyond it.
One collection, four very different stays
A key detail first, because it changes how the prices read: Mushara publishes its rates per chalet, tent or villa per night, not per person. A NAD 8,200 chalet for two works out at NAD 4,100 per person, dinner, bed and breakfast, with VAT and the 1% bed levy already included. That makes Mushara better value than a first glance at the rate sheet suggests.
Mushara Lodge — from NAD 8,200 per chalet, dinner, bed & breakfast
The original property and the classic choice: ten thatched chalets around a lawn and pool, plus a family house and a triple room, with a library, fireplace lounge and meals built on produce from the lodge’s own garden. High season (July to December) is NAD 8,800 per chalet; single use starts at NAD 5,500.

Mushara Bush Camp — from NAD 6,200 per tent, dinner, bed & breakfast
Sixteen tent-chalets in a bush setting, and the most affordable way into the collection. It is deliberately geared towards families and independent self-drive travellers, with a garden and lapa area at its centre; high season is NAD 6,700 per tent.

Around eight tent-chalets styled as an African homestead above a dry riverbed, known for its cooking and personal service. A fully-inclusive option (meals plus activities) is published at NAD 15,900 per tent.

Just two 140 m² villas, each individually designed, with game drives run exclusively for villa guests. Fully inclusive is NAD 20,800 per villa. This is the collection’s honeymoon and privacy pick.
Why base yourself on the eastern side
Eastern Etosha is quieter than the Okaukuejo side and gives you Fischer’s Pan, Namutoni’s surrounds and the Andoni plains before most day traffic arrives. Mushara’s guided game drives into the park are priced at NAD 1,450 per person until 31 March 2026 and NAD 1,500 thereafter, with park entrance fees included; a private vehicle is NAD 11,600.
The eastern gate also suits route planning. Travellers driving the classic loop from Windhoek via Tsumeb enter here, cross the park westwards over two or three nights, and exit at Andersson’s Gate, so a Mushara stay slots naturally into the first Etosha night.
Seasons and what they cost
All four properties use the same two seasons: shoulder from January to June, high from July to December. High season adds roughly NAD 500 to 600 per unit at the Lodge and Bush Camp. Rates below are per unit per night, dinner, bed and breakfast, including VAT and the 1% bed levy.
