Why stay at Dolomite Camp
Dolomite Camp is the premium accommodation in Western Etosha, the only camp inside Etosha National Park’s western concession area, and the most architecturally striking of all in-park camps. Twenty elevated chalets are built into a dolomite ridge with panoramic views over the Western Etosha plains — a landscape closed to general park traffic and accessible only via the camp. The Western concession’s exclusive access means lower vehicle density at game-drive waterholes than the rest of the park. Accommodation runs to two chalet types, both designed for two occupants but accommodating up to four. The camp’s elevated infinity pool and outcrop sundowner deck are signature features, and the absence of a fuel station underscores its destination-camp positioning.

Accommodation at Dolomite Camp
Two chalet types, 20 units total, maximum 4 occupants per unit. Both include breakfast. Deluxe Chalets sell out 9–12 months ahead in peak season.
- Bush Chalet (2 beds, up to 4 occupants) — standard elevated chalet, private deck, incl. breakfast
- Deluxe Chalet (2 people, king-size) — upgraded layout with larger deck and private plunge pool, incl. breakfast
The Dolomite outcrop and Western concession
Dolomite Camp is built into a natural dolomite ridge, giving the chalets elevation over the surrounding Western Etosha landscape — mopane savannah, open plains, and seasonal waterholes. The Western concession that the camp serves is closed to general park traffic; only Dolomite guests and authorised vehicles access its road network and waterholes. This translates to materially lower vehicle counts at sightings than in the rest of Etosha National Park. The camp’s main public area sits atop the highest point of the ridge and includes a swimming pool, sundowner deck, and lounge.
Wildlife and waterholes near Dolomite Camp
Dolomite’s exclusive access opens Western concession waterholes unavailable to other guests:
- Dolomietpunt — in-concession; consistent black rhino and elephant
- Renostervlei — in-concession; named for rhino, regularly sighted
- Klippan — in-concession; large elephant aggregations in late dry season
- Olifantsrus waterhole — 45 km south; double-storey hide visit option
- Salvadora and Ozonjuitji m’Bari — accessible via day-drive east toward Okaukuejo
