- Etosha National Park
The Camp is situated in the eastern part of Etosha National Park and is accessible via the Von Lindequist Gate near Fisher’s Pan.
Its proximity to Fisher’s Pan makes Namutoni a hotspot for birders. Restaurant, a craft shop, a pool, and a viewing deck overlooking King Nehale Waterhole make the fort a great place to relax. Petrol station to refill before an evening game drive. Within the fort, you will find ample facilities and a variety of accommodations.
The fort overlooks the flood-lit King Nehale Waterhole.
The waterhole in the camp first came to notice in 1851. From 1897 Namutoni served as a control post. The fort was built between 1902 and 1903. It was destroyed in 1904 but was rebuilt to its original design in 1906. The beautiful fort was declared a national monument in 1950, and the camp was opened to tourists in 1957.
