However, political and geographical changes over the decades have shrunk its expanse to its current 20,000km^2.

The latter part of the 20th century was tumultuous for Etosha. Droughts and wars devastated its wildlife. However, thanks to unwavering conservation efforts, Etosha’s wildlife has rebounded.
